Custom ring orders
Every ring is made to order. Nothing is manufactured until a jeweller confirms the order and pays for it. This page sets out the whole flow, including who pays whom and at which moment.
From the counter to the courier.
Six stages. The jeweller controls the first three. We control the last three.
The customer designs the ring and buys it from the jeweller
The customer builds the ring in the jeweller's branded storefront during the consultation, then buys it from the jeweller. That sale happens inside the jeweller's shop, at the jeweller's own retail price, on the jeweller's own payment terms. We are not a party to it.
The order appears for the jeweller to review
The finished design lands in the jeweller's order dashboard with its full specification: the head, the shank, both metals, the diamond shape and carat, the source of the stone, the ring size, the engraving and the SKU. The jeweller checks it against what the customer asked for.
The jeweller confirms the order and pays our price
To confirm the order the jeweller pays our manufacturing price through our payment gateway. This is the only payment we take for a ring, and the jeweller is always the payer. The moment the payment settles, we place a hold on the diamond so the stone and its price are locked for that order.
We receive the order and confirm it
Our team reviews the confirmed order, verifies that the stone and every component are available, and accepts the order. We normally do this within 1 business day. If we cannot fulfil the order, we cancel it and refund the payment in full.
We manufacture the ring
We cast the setting in the chosen metal, set the held stone and finish the ring to the specification in the order. The jeweller follows each ring through the production stages in the dashboard. Every ring in a multi-ring order tracks separately.
We ship to the jeweller
We ship the finished ring to the jeweller's registered business address with a tracking number. The jeweller hands it to the end consumer. We never ship to the end consumer and we never contact them.
Who pays whom
This matters, so we state it plainly. There are two payments and they are separate.
| Payment | Payer | Payee | Where it happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| The retail price of the ring | The end consumer | The jeweller | In the jeweller's shop, on the jeweller's own terms. Not on our gateway. |
| Our manufacturing price | The jeweller (a registered business) | Evermore Jewellery Private Limited | On our payment gateway, when the jeweller confirms the order. |
Every payment that reaches our gateway therefore comes from a registered jewellery business that holds an account with us. We take no payment from the general public.
What the price covers
We quote each order separately, because the price depends on what the customer designed. A quotation covers:
- The diamond, laboratory-grown or natural, at the shape, carat, colour and clarity in the design.
- The metal, at the weight the finished design needs and at the current metal rate.
- The casting, the stone setting and the finishing work.
- The engraving, if the customer asked for one.
- Insured shipping to the jeweller's business address.
Applicable taxes are shown separately on the invoice. For an international shipment, the duty and the import tax of the destination country are payable by the recipient.
The stone hold
Diamond prices move and a given stone is unique. When the jeweller's payment settles we place a hold on the specific stone for that order. The hold protects the customer from a price change and it guarantees that the exact stone in the design is the stone that gets set.
Because the hold commits us to a real stone, an order cannot be changed after our production team confirms it. Read the cancellation window below.
Cancelling an order
Before we confirm. A jeweller can cancel an order at no cost at any time between their payment and our production team's confirmation. We refund the payment in full. This window is normally 1 business day.
After we confirm. The order is in production against a held stone and a cast setting. It cannot be cancelled, changed or refunded. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Production time
| Service | Time from our confirmation |
|---|---|
| Standard production | 4 weeks, then shipping. |
| Express production | Shorter, for an additional fee shown on the order before payment. |
Express is chosen for each ring, not for the whole order, so a jeweller can rush one ring and leave another on the standard schedule. The Shipping & Delivery Policy covers the delivery windows after dispatch.
Quality and what arrives
- Every ring is made to the exact specification frozen in the order. The dashboard keeps that specification so there is no dispute about what was ordered.
- We inspect each ring before dispatch.
- If a delivered ring does not match the confirmed specification, or if it has a manufacturing defect, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we will correct or remake it at our own cost. This does not cover damage after delivery, ordinary wear, or a change of mind by the end consumer.
Who we sell to
We manufacture only for registered jewellery businesses that hold an At the Atelier account. We do not accept manufacturing orders from the general public, and we do not sell finished rings directly to consumers.
